Anyone who has ever organized a group gift has probably endured the same frustrating, time-consuming steps that followed:

   1. calling and inviting each person to give,
   2. getting opinions and approval on the gift,
   3. collecting cash and checks,
   4. keeping track of who contributed, who still owes and who hasn’t responded,
   5. purchasing the gift and card,
   6. coordinating signatures for the enclosure,
   7. ending up with “a gift” for yourself—the remaining balance!
